Quality Assurance

Polymed has a well developed quality assurance system first registered under BS 5750/ISO 9002 in 1992. In 1995 we gained accreditation under ISO 9OO1 and our system has continued to develop and improve.

In August 2010 we were certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008.

Every batch of material we process, however small, is tested to ensure that it complies fully with its specification. The company is fully equipped with the measuring and test instruments required. Instrumentation is regularly calibrated to measurements traceable to national or international standards.

New employees receive quality training during induction and later attend external training courses in order to qualify as internal quality auditors. When training is complete each staff member becomes responsible for at least one quality procedure and for auditing others.

The company employs a computerised material batch traceability system. Batch records are retained permanently. All materials handled by the company are traceable back to sources of raw materials and forward to purchasers of our finished products. This helps us to deal swiftly and effectively with any product complaints that may arise.
